Set against the beautiful Highland mountains, a journey down the Caledonian Canal will be filled with breath-taking views. The canal is almost 200 years old and joins the North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Cruise around the vast Loch Ness, home to one of the most famous sea-serpents in the world. Harry Potter fans can enjoy a magical day out travelling on the West Highland Railway line - one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys as used by Hogwart’s Express! Scotland has something for everyone from bird watching and cycling, to fishing and shopping. If you’re brave, try Haggis with a malt whisky both of which are regional specialties. Visit the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition and the ruins of Urquhart Castle overlooking the Loch.

Cruising notes
- Our cruises are suggestions only – you can also create your own itinerary
- Short breaks and longer cruises are available on the Caledonian Canal.
- Navigation is easy and full of variety. On the larger stretches of open water (Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Ochy) you are never far from sheltered moorings. On the short canal sections there only ten locks 9each way) within the normal cruising range, all operated by lock keepers.
- Due to the nature of the cruising area we don’t hire bike from our base at Laggan, but there are mountain bike hire facilities nearby.
- If you would like to hire a Ghillie/game-keeper for salmon fishing please advise the base team well in advance.
